Bio
Vandorn Hinnant – born in 1953, received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from North Carolina A & T State University, Greensboro and studied sculpture at UNC-Greensboro. His original works of art are in numerous private and corporate collections throughout North America with some works in Europe and Africa. He has served as guest curator of exhibitions, as juror of many fine art competitions and guest lectured at many colleges and universities. He serves as an educational consultant working with both youth and adult learners. He has served two institutions of higher learning as exhibitions installer:
- Diggs Gallery at Winston-Salem State University in Winston-Salem NC.
- The Mattye Reid African Heritage Center at NC A&T State University in Greensboro NC.His work, as a whole, speaks to ideas about how insights into geometry promote deeper thinking regarding the phenomenon of relationship as experienced in the arts, humanities, and the sciences.
His work aims to suggest possibilities of how math/art can provide keys to unlock insights in the minds of students, and learners in general, that might otherwise go untapped, unnoticed or unexplored.
