Peter Rubino is an internationally acclaimed sculptor, author, art educator and US Navy veteran. Among his many works in bronze are “Mother of All Life”, a 12 foot historic monument that graces the Boyko Research Center at the Ben Gurion University of the Negev in Beer- Sheva, Israel and “Angel”, a 35 foot figure created for Disney Corporation. Peter's patriotic sculpture “Remembrance” is a tribute to Americas Fallen War Heroes and first unveiled at the capitol building in Hartford CT.
Closer to home, a limited edition of “Remembrance” is now part of the Waxhaw Military Wall. Peter was also commissioned to create the “Officer Of The Year” sculpture award for the Waxhaw Police Department, “HERO” a bronze firefighter for the Scott Safety corporation lobby in Monroe and “Protector” for the Levine Jewish Community Center in Charlotte. His life size statue of Jesus was unveiled to the public at Wahaw's Created In The Carolinas Art Space.
Mr. Rubino exhibits extensively in the US and specializes in portrait sculpture. He has skillfully captured the likeness of such luminaries as President Obama, jazz icon Dave Brubeck, baseball legends Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig, to name a few.
Peter is the author of two Random House Publications “The Portrait in Clay” and “Sculpting the Figure in Clay”. His books are distributed world wide and translated in numerous languages. Peter has been an educator of fine art for over 4 decades and encourages students, with his popular trademark, to “Pursue it With Passion”. Mr. Rubino has conducted sculpture classes and workshops at prestigious art institutions throughout the United States and Italy.
